An idea a day:
39. Create a "43things like" social networking website for diseased people.
Everyone say that 一公斤眼淚 is v. inspirational, as it is the chicken soup for your soul, give meaning to countless people, of course, encouraging people who are having the same disease.
The main fear for patients to uncure-able diseases, like cancer/ AIDS/ Brain problems etc, are not death, but the time and life they need to face after they are notified about the disease.
Of course, professional advices from doctors can help, but there is only one thing on earth can calm the discomfort: LOVE.
If we could bulid a online community of patients having the same disease, the website let them cheer up others when they are down, tell other about their own meaningful/ successful combat-disease stories, just like 亞也 in the drama, let them to make friend with people from all races, then it can re-create value/ give meaning for life to fight the up-hill battle.
The website can be just like 43things, users can pre-set their disease, then people can search the user database to find people having the same disease.
Every user can be provided with a blog, in the blog they can write their own stories, professional medicial advice from their country, update their combat progress, tell other about the stress, let themselves to release hatred.
It is a social network, you can find other user and leave comment to cheerup countless others.

43things is funny, it has drawn 200,000 people in more than 82 countries and 22,000 unique goals — all without any marketing campaign, but it can't earn!

If the purpose is to contribute, then it is not a problem.

Actually, would your model be more like friendster/facebook? As they can let you explore others' network.

You know PCCW sucks! I can't connect to US sites, even using proxy like 80.227.0.156, from HK to US via United Arab Emirates!

Yes, the site would be something like that, but the purpose is to share disease problems, but not like making friends of pointless common interest.

Wether a website can earn or not it depends. May be the next M&A like youtube will be 43things!

It is a japanese drama, about a girl with brain problems, and there is no remedy for the disease.

Life is struggle for her, but she fight a good battle and have a positive attitude towards life.

She write a dairy to keep track of her life, and people think the dairy is inspirational and it hips!
