An idea a day:
56. For all the programs in TV, add a marquee bar of ad-words for advertising.
Refer to 尹思哲's article today, about the death of traditional way of tv advertising, thanks to TiVo, we could skip all the advertisements very easily. Also, the watching habit has been changed, people now prefer download to watch broadcast, as the time is more flexible. The conclusion is: TV advertising is dying! No more million per ads!
But what if all the programs have ad-words on the screen, and cancelled all advertisements in between sections and breaks? People can choose to avoid ads sections, but people are forced to watch the marquee bar!
It could also solve the download problem, people can skip the ads like TiVo, but it take time and effort to delete marquee, if the marquee change position on screen from time to time.
If the ad-words are inserted in between instant news, weather, stock price etc, like CNN/ ABC news, it could surely attract eyeballs. People will try to digest the words before understanding, increasing the impact and impression of the advertisement.
No one would like advertisements, as they think it is annoying and time-conusming. But no one would think the marquee bars in news report are annoying and want it evaporate, so I think it could be one of the way.
Google can earn due to their ads can direct visitors to a website, which can close the deal, what if the marquee combine with QR code, and could direct people to a website via their phone? Or the code could be some sort of discount which could be swiped at retail shop? Endless opportunities.
